The Japan House is a meeting point of cultures that lies at Simojärvi Lake shore in Ranua. Middle of the purest nature of Lapland, the house was build in cooperation with Iwasakimura that is a Japanese friendship town to Ranua. At the Japan House resamples the Japanese atmosphere, and has quite lot of Japanese features.

The Japan House offers temporary exhibitions and events, program services for school children and other groups. Place is also suitable for meetings and banquets. Limited accommodation is available on special request. The house has an extensive library collection: The Mochizuki Bunko Collection contains about 2000 volumes. Mainly Japanese.
