Red Cross established a Childrens Hospital to Rovaniemi at 1946. The building was built in 1951. After the war, which had destroyed the nursery network, children's morbidity and mortality was high in Lapland. Approcimately every third died less than six years old. Rickets was the common cause of death.
Nowadays this building is used as a day center for disabled people. The provide all kinds of activities to their active visitors too. As well help families to organise their day with day-care activities.
