Why you should visit it

Unlike much of San Diego's coastline, Sunset Cliffs isn't all sandy beaches and lifeguard towers. Here, tucked away in the heart of Ocean Beach, you'll find staggering cliffs, tide pools brimming with ocean life and a quiet serenity that will make you completely forget you're in the heart of a major city.

Special tip

Make sure to check when low tide is the day you visit so you get the chance to see San Diego's sea life up close in the tide pools.
