Cha-Ya is an all-vegetarian Japanese restaurant on Valencia Street. True to authentic Japanese style, the interior is simple and elegant with polished wooden tables and rice paper lanterns. The menu consists of healthy and tasty vegetarian and vegan dishes such as sushi rolls, vegetable tempura and miso soup – all for a reasonable price.

If you're vegetarian or vegan, you must try Cha-Ya. Even skeptical meat lovers will find their dishes truly filling and delicious. The portions are very generous and can be accompanied by sake, plum wine or green tea. Moreover, you never have to wait long to be seated – something of a rarity in San Francisco.
Please note that they only accept cash. There’s an ATM located on Valencia Street near the restaurant.
