For Art Galeries I would visit one avenue in São Paulo, that you will find lots of them, and also many desing shops:

- GALERIA DE ARTE ANDRÉ - Av. Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, 1753 - Jardim Europa - SP

- GALERIA PRO ARTE - Av. Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, 1644

- GALERIA RABIEH - Av. Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, 147

- GALERIA SLAVIERO E GUEDES - Av. Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, 2074

- GALERIA DEMOCRART - Av. Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, 1325

- GALERIA URBAN ARTS - Av. Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, 1984

- GALERIA CONTEMPO - Av. Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, 1644

Enjoy!!!!

You could by a chip from a brazilian telecom company. Claro, Tim or Vivo. If you decide to use yours, almost all places have wifi, so you can check whatever you need before you get to the street

DO NOT RENT A CAR! Trafic in SP is stressfull. You should use the Subway, buses and Uber. Actually Uber is really popular, good prices and quick. Buses are all right if you are staying in the city center. They could seem a bit confusing, but if you used Google Maps, it shows all transportation alternatives with quite accurate times. Quite easy if you orient yourself by that.
Ah, I forgot about MAC, contemporary art, just across the huge avenue in front of the Bienal building. It has a quite interesting collecion, amazing buildong by Niemeyer and a great rooftop restaurant called Vista.
Enjoy the city!

My cell carrier does not service São Paulo. Can I get rent a phone for Uber?
Hi Winnie, well, I am not sure about art galleries. But I am quite sure about some of the museums you should not miss:
• MASP - it's a city icon, right in the Paulista Avenue. It's not only a great museum, but it's also a piece of art in it's own architecture. It was built in the 60's by modernist architect Lina Bo Bardi.
It's more a universal art museum, having pieces from medieval times up to Brazilian modernists.
• PINACOTECA - subway station LUZ - great collection of Brazilian and latin american art. Some european stuff. It's in the middle of a beautiful, but a bit degrated park. That, is a São Paulo characteristic by the way: the beauty and the degration.
• BIENAL - you are coming right in the Bienal of São Paulo period. You should not miss that. Inside Ibirapuera Park. The building was project by Oscar Niemeyer. Amazing.
• Instituto Moreira Salles - in Paulista Avenue - an INCREDIBLE building, with three floor of expositions, cinema, cafe, restaurant. It's only one or 2 years old. You should absolutely not miss that.
• SESC POMPEIA - no subway near it - the nearest one is VIla Madelena it's not a museum in proper sense, but an incredible cultural center in an old factory. Also a project by Lina Bo Bardi. I would not miss that. You can have very good price sanduiches, enjoy a concert, if your lucky to get a ticket and enjoy the space.
• Vila Madalena - you can visit some galleries there. The only gallery I would reccommend is CHOQUE CULTURAL.
