Why locals love it

The Museum is at a former Monastery and tilefactory at the other side of the river . Nobody is living here so it's very peaceful. For Europeans it is free or very cheap. For locals most of the museums are free. The exhibitions are worth visiting. A special place.

Why you should visit it

Visit the building and gardens, also the chapel where sometimes you will have concerts. Also in the garden and at the museum bar they organise a lot of concerts, from jazz to pop, rock or flamenco. The exhibitions are very good and it's always peaceful .

Special tip

Take a walk from the other side of the river and have a good view on the Calatrava bridge that was build for 1992 World Exhibition

It is one of the famous Contemporary art museums in Seville. Was an old Monastery of "Los Cartujos", where Christobal Columbus learned to be a sailor. Nowadays apart to be used as a museum is a concert and festivals zone... as a cultural zone of the city. Perfect to enjoy the weekend with friends, beer, good weather and listening to local and national musicians, and sometimes also international.
