Butoiul de Aur is the oldest traditional Romanian restaurant in Sibiu. It stands in a historic, marvelous setting. Located at the ground floor of an old building, it features ample chambers covered with brick vaults and a summer terrace overlooking one of the best places in Sibiu - the Stairs Passage.

Why you should visit it
Go there if you want to enjoy a traditional Romanian meal while admiring the mighty walls of the first fortification system of Sibiu. The terrace has a cozy atmosphere as it has been set up ad hoc in a corner of a street.
Special tip
Walk down a few hundred meters from the restaurant (along Turnului street) and you will reach a scenic spot (great photos of the Evangelic Church).
