Romanian art gallery
Why locals love it
Casa Albastră is part of the Brukenthal Museums and it houses the most extensive Romanian Art Gallery in Sibiu. The gallery is located on one side of the Piața Mare Square (the main square in town), right next to the Brukenthal Palace and the City Hall. As its name says, it is a house with a blue facade, so it will be easy to recognize it.
Why you should visit it
You cannot miss this medieval house simply because it's part of the most famous museum in Sibiu and in Romania. The museum was set up in the former residence of Samuel von Brukenthal (the governor of Transylvania) at his express request. The current Blue House houses the Romanian Art Gallery in the Baroque rooms of the upper floors.
