Next to the Evangelic church of St. John, a cozy cafe and book-store was set up by the German community of Sibiu. In the book-store you find mostly German books, but you can also buy books in Romanian and English as well as maps and small souvenirs. In summer the terrace is a great place to relax.

Why you should visit it
If you are looking for books written in English and German as well as a map of Sibiu and its surroundings, this is a good place to go. Don’t forget to enjoy a coffee or a lemonade at their small terrace, especially in summer. On the western side of the courtyard, you can see the remains of the old fortification wall of the city (3rd fortification).
Special tip
There’s also a museum in the same place. Ask the staff to visit it as it features interesting artifacts dating back to the Middle Ages.
