ASTRA Complex Museum is located in Dumbrava Forest, on the outskirts of Sibiu. It's an open-air museum that was set up in a forest. Traditional houses from Sibiu county were moved from their original setting and rebuilt in the open-air museum. As Sibiu has only one park, this museum is the best place for a walk especially during weekends.

ASTRA museum features traditional houses from all the corners of Sibiu county. You will see old wood houses, water mills and wind mills, a wood church, and various households with granary, barn, and columbarium. If you don't have time to visit Romanian villages, this is a good way to understand a bit of the rural architecture.
The museum is pretty big, so consider at least a couple of hours to walk through and wear comfortable shoes.
