Why locals love it
Astra Park is the best place to enjoy a bit of greenery right at the periphery of the old city center. As there wasn't space to set up a park within the fortifications of the old town (except the private inner gardens), Astra Park became the favorite place for locals who want to enjoy and stroll a bit in the shade of big, lofty trees.

Why you should visit it
In Astra Park you will find a place to sit, enjoy a small corner of nature, and the chirp of the birds. The park stands next to the main library in Sibiu (also called Astra) and next to Cazarma 90 (from where you can rent bikes). You can find drinking water in the most northern edge of the park. Street vendors sell street food (ice cream, corncob).
Special tip
In summer, local people come and play board-games, backgammon, card, and any other game. Find them on the northern edge of the park.
