This is one of the most scenic spots in Sibiu. Located at the border between the Upper Town and the Lower Town, the passage goes right under the arches of the first fortification of the town's medieval core. 'Pasajul Scărilor' means the 'Passage of the Stairs' and it is called like that because it descends from the Upper town to the Lower Town.

Going up or down the Stairs' Passageway you will easier understand how the medieval town of Sibiu developed. On one side of the passageway you will see the old wall of the 1st fortification enclosure around Huet Square (the Upper Town) while on the other side you will see the houses of the Lower Town. It's a great spot for photos too !
You can see the passageway from Cafe Wien’s outdoor terrace (you can go there for free) – beautiful panorama of the Lower Town and of the passageway.
