Kontiki Restaurant is a local eatery, packed with locals almost all day long. They have the best tripe soup in town (ciorbă de burtă) served with sour cream and garlic sauce. Their menu is pretty extensive though and they serve all other sorts of Romanian dishes (mici cu muștar, creier pane etc). Don't miss papanași (Romanian traditional dessert).

Why you should visit it
You will have an authentic experience if you go to eat at Kontiki. Away of the tourist crowds, the place is mostly known by locals and you will meet (and maybe befriend locals there). Be ready to eat a lot and try a lot of authentic traditional Romanian dishes - because this is without doubt the best place in Sibiu for a culinary local experience.
Special tip
It's not mandatory but in Romania, we usually leave 10% of the bill as a tip for the waiter (they really work a lot at Kontiki so think of them too).
