Why locals love it

The Fort Canning Tree Tunnel is an underground crossing with spiral staircase on the edge of Fort Canning Park. It links Dhoby Ghaut to the park. When one looks up from the bottom of the staircase, one is greeted by an amazing world of lush greenery.

Special tip

The best time to visit is from 9am to 10am, where the sun's ray shines on the trees above and cast beautiful silhouettes against the staircase wall.

there's a few entries. if you are coming from Dhoby Ghaut MRT, there is an entry just at the start of the tunnel at Fort Canning Link. if you are coming from Bencoolen MRT, there is an entry just as you turn into Canning Walk from Fort Canning Rd.

The steps are standard height and with ample foot space. The flight of stairs is one storey high. Hope this helps!
