Why locals love it
While the neighbourhood is mostly full of tourists, locals love to spend their time around Haji Lane because of the small shophouses that are there. The Alternative Store is a personal favourite as they sell handmade clothes not typically found in department stores.
Why you should visit it
You'll be supporting local businesses, and you'll enjoy the ambient atmosphere in each of these shophouses. On some nights there will be performances at a cafe called Going Om. While it's mostly musicians, sometimes there are dance and fire performances too!
Special tip
Most of these shophouses are closed on Monday, so mark that day out!
