It's always there, whenever you visit Sintra this is one of 'the' places you have to visit. It offers a great insight of the story of Sintra and the moorish influence in the region. Locals usually walk in the surrounding (spooky areas) at night where you can sometimes see lots of fireflies!
Great to understand the moorish influence in Sintra, also offers great views from Lisbon to Cascais and more. from here you can also have a different view to Pena palace. It is especially great for kids, that can run and go up the stairs with their parents, discovering the stories behind the walls.
Its great to walk from the inside of the castles walls, you can get the idea of how it was back in the day, when the portuguese conquered it.
