At the southeast corner of UKKNational Park the River Nuorttijoki flows through a magnificent canyon. The Nuortti Canyon is the most spectacular and impressive imprint of the Ice Age in the area. The river attracts both fishermen and hikers. Nuortti's desert hiking trail takes you to this sight to wonder.
The trail travels on both sides of the river and is variably high up on a steep banks between wooded terrain. The route is a loop, resulting in a total length of 40 kilometers long. In addition, there are two viewing decks along the route with breathtaking views.
The trail is a summer trail marked by terrain with campfire sites, camping opportunities and reservation huts.
