Why locals love it
Pittiövaara is a rocky and old-growth forest on the west side of Sodankylä. There are beautiful landscapes far away from the top of the danger, Kumpu and Pyhätunturi, among others, can be seen from different parts of the danger. Pittiövaara's specialty is a giant gorge, in the vicinity of which extreme caution is required when moving.
Special tip
Recommend the place only to a well-experienced hiker. There are no structures, no route or route markings for the hiker in the area
