Tankavaara's Gold Museum
Why locals love it
The world's only International Gold Museum is located at Sodankylä, Tankavaara. The museum is the neighbor of the Tankavaara's Golden Village as well UKK National Parks nature trails. Really great place to stop by while travelling up north or down south. Museum is maintained by the Gold Museum Foundation.
Why you should visit it
The museum's main exhibition tells about the colorful gold rush history of Lapland. At the same time you can also get lecture about panting the gold, get quick information about gem stones and gold as well get into the life's of gold diggers back in the 1800's or get a detailed guided tour.

During the winter 1.10. - 31.5. we are open Mon-Fri 10am - 4pm.
