the Spit of Vasilievsky Island

Why locals love it

Spit of Vasilievsky Island (Strelka) is one of those charming places that attract people regardless the season. Here you often see some newly-weds or graduates celebrating with a glass of sparkling wine; on special occasions like Navy Day or Scarlet Sails Festival city concerts take place here and on most of big days Rostral columns are lighted up

Why you should visit it

It's unavoidable while walking along the University embankment and is worth the stop. If not for the amazing views and possibility to get closer to water, then for a chance to join in the crowd of hustle/salsa lovers dancing by the Rostral columns on summer weekends (they usually start from 8 pm)
