Daria is an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. We also got a couple of freebies not included in the tour as she granted our request to see the Carriage museum at Catherine's palace, and also had our driver stop for us at the war memorial at our request on the way, where I got an excellent video of the interactive monument. Very happy, one of the highlights of our trip. Also, Paul's palace in Pavlovsk is not to be missed, one of the best palaces to be seen in Russia.

Description

Visit two of Russia’s grandest and most beautiful imperial residences, Tsarskoye Selo and Pavlovsk Palace, on a fascinating day trip from St Petersburg!

Tsarskoye Selo was developed as a royal country residence by Elizabeth I and Catherine II, and contains two beautiful palaces: Catherine Palace, an immense and lavish Baroque residence, and the slightly smaller Alexander Palace, a neoclassical masterpiece.

Visit Catherine Palace’s breathtaking Amber Room, decorated by Elisabeth’s court architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli, and containing stunning mosaic panels made of real amber.

The nearby Pavlovsk Palace was built in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and was the imperial residence of Paul I and, later, several Grand Ducal families. It’s considered to be one of the finest examples of classical architecture in Europe. Several ornate rooms and beautiful gardens make it a favourite destination of tourists and locals alike.

Together, the Pavlovsk Palace and Tsarskoye Selo form part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Please note that the Catherine Palace has a limited number of pre-booked admissions, therefore the tour start time will likely be adjusted.

Hassle free way to see the Hermitage on your own
We had been to the Hermitage before, but since our friends went on a guided tour with the same conpany, we opted for the skip-the-line tickets. And boy, were we happy, seeing the humongous line outside the Winter Palace. We were taken in with the guided tour group and then we continued on our own.
A very knowledgeable guide
Olga was extremely professional and posssesed a wealth of knowledge which she was able to impart with us throughout the tour. I couldn't have done the visit so efficiently if i were alone. Because she knew not only about art and architecture, she was also extremely adept at guiding us in the most efficient way by taking us to less crowded area first and being flexible. There was a family with an infant who showed up late, but she handleded it graciously. The only "problem" was the extra time it took to get inside, as there seemed have confusion as to which group gets to go first. To me it was no such big deal, but some people might have become impatient. Overall, I'm very satisfied. Thank you Olga!
Loved the show
Nice folklore show. Great dancers and singers. The only problem is the hall. You should come early and get the first seats of you want to see it all
