I did visit all museums at my previous trips to Stockholm and this time I look for something different. It can be an activity, a walk-road/trekking, a restaurant to try, a shop for good design... Any kind of advice helps :)

For places to eat and shop, the Sofo area on Sodermalm would be perfect. Great food and shops like Pom och Flora http://pomochflora.se/, Nytorget 6http://www.nytorget6.com/, Grandpa https://www.grandpastore.com/ and more!

Snickarbaken 7 is great for both food and shop in a beautiful space that was once a horse's stable way back when, http://www.snickarbacken7.se/#om_snickarbacken

This weekend Skansen on Djurgarden is hosting their fall fair which should make a lovely day. Rosendal Tradgarden http://www.rosendalstradgard.se/ on the island is a great spot for food.

Could you please tell me which kind of restaurants you like? Type of food, vibe and so on.

Other than that I would recommend you to go to "Fjäderholmarna" or even all the way to "Sandhamn". You can take the boat from Nybrokajen in central Stockholm. The location of Stockholm within the Archipelagos is one of the things I like the most.

If you like sports you should really go to the football, (soccer), derby between Hammarby and Djurgården on sunday at 15.00. The tickets might be hard to come by but the atmosphere will be very exciting. (Maybe not like a Fener-Gala derby though)

For trekking, or more for walking, I would recommend a stroll around Djurgården. Or maybe Brunnsparken.

Hi Ayca,

Here's some suggestions:

For nature and trekking, try Tyresta National Park or Paradiset

If you would like to go for coffee, theres a number of interesting cafes in Stockholm. My personal likes are Cafe Pascal in Odenplan, Cafe Schweizer in Gamla Stan, Drop Coffee in Mariatorget and Mellqvist Cafe in St Eriksplan.

If you'd like to travel outside of the city but be within Stockholm, consider day trips to Sigtuna or Vaxholm. Both are small towns that you can get too with the local SL travel card.

As for shopping I'd suggest going away from the usual shopping streets and try out the Stockholm Stadmission stores all over the city. They sell second hand items that are in good condition, from house items, to clothes to books and even have a restaurant. It is a charity and the funds raised go to helping the homeless and needy.

Hope this helps :) Do check out my blog for more places to see :)

I recommend a boattrip through Stockholm archipelago. You can find these trips at www.waxholmsbolaget.se and I especially recommend the steam boats
