“Söder” is where the cool cats of the city tend to congregate. Once a working-class neighbourhood, it’s now home to hoards of independent shops, cafés, bars and cashed-up hipsters. With cosy 16th-century architecture and spectacular city views, the area around Fjällgatan is a pleasant change of scenery.

If trendy vintage clothing boutiques, cool independent galleries and intimate little bars get your hipster heart pounding, Söder is most definitely the Stockholm island for you. Can’t get enough of bushy beards and Buddy Holly spectacles? Head directly to “SoFo”, otherwise avoid this area at all costs.
