Built in the late 13th century, Storkyrkan is one of Stockholm’s oldest buildings. Its Gothic interiors date back to the 15th century, while its exterior was refurbished in a Baroque style in the 1740s to complement the architecture of the Royal Palace.
This is where the current king and queen of Sweden were married, along with Crown Princess Victoria and her personal trainer, Prince Daniel. One of its many treasures is the dramatic 15th-century statue “St George and the Dragon”, which was commissioned to commemorate Swedish victory in one of Sweden’s many battles with Denmark.
Entrance is 40 kr for adults and free for accompanying children under 18.
