Why locals love it

Sydneysiders love markets. From east to west and north to south, we just can't get enough. On weekends the Emerald City's covered in them, polka-dotting the landscape with their bounty of leisure and pleasure. Locals love Addison Road because they're a treasure chest of haphazardry, brimming with unexpected gems that you never knew you wanted

Why you should visit it

It's one of the best farmers markets in the city: a one stop shop for gourmet produce and regular fruit & vegetables, fresh bread and patisseries, meat, poultry, fish and cheese, glorious cheese. But that's not all. There's plenty of food stalls, from Phở to fry-ups, live music, fashion, knick-knacks and face painting for kids, or animated adults.

Local. Pick and choose something special to eat there or take it home to cook. Little kids are happy with the basic jumping castle or Shetland pony rides. The Latino community groups often do BBQs/food up the back. Check out Reverse Garbage or The Bower for upcycling or second hand treasures.
