All the Australian stars who made it in Hollywood have trodden the boards: Cate Blanchett (who also ran the company with her husband), Geoffrey Rush, Toni Collette and more. But the city's premier theatre company is not only loved for its grandeur. For over 3 decades it's championed local stories, while also opening our minds to the big wide world.
It's produced some of the most electrifying stage work of recent memory, with a long tradition of presenting classics, both European and Australian, plus a healthy dose of new work, some of which may be destined for the canon. But it's the venue, jutting into Sydney harbour, that makes every journey worth it, whether you like the show or not.
At 9am every Tuesday you can call the box office to get $20 tickets to any show for the following week.
