Why locals love it
The citizens of Redfern didn't realise they needed another bar, but they sure we're happy when this place arrived. It's easy going - you'll never find a crazy crowd in the joint - and it already feels lived in... by a circus troupe who make classic cocktails and display artwork in their front window. Crocheted penises, anyone?
Why you should visit it
We all wanted to run away with the circus once, didn't we? At The Bearded Tit you only have to travel through the front door to imagine yourself as a tightrope walker, fire twirler, lion tamer, or even the ringmaster. The fitout is meticulous, and to the delight of Carnivale purists it's totally freakish; not a hint of Cirque de Soleil to be seen.
