Why locals love it
It's a judgement free zone - not-for-profit, cornucopia of queerdom: the dreamchild of 5 artists (AKA the rats) who were sick of seeing alternative spaces getting shut down. So they imagined this one into existence, where alternative arts, performance and grassroots activism flourish. It's still going strong 5 years on. Vive la vermine!
Why you should visit it
This is the reigning queen of Sydney's alternative club scene. Or drag king, if you prefer. Expect to find anything from queer rappers to vegan BBQs to psychedelic boogie rock, with no racist, sexist, homophobic or transphobic behaviour allowed.
