Changing scene, lasting monument

Why locals love it

Bombed to the ground by the Soviet air force in 1944, it took decades to get the National Opera House up and running to it's full capacity again. Today the building is a prominent landmark in the Tallinn cityscape.

Why you should visit it

The Opera House itself, with it's neoclassical appearance certainly lends itself to a conservative categorisation. Certainly, the National Opera House is, by and large, a haven for high culture. Those who appreciate the more refined forms of Dionysian art will find the house a fine stage for performances.
