I love craft beer and extremely hot ‘n’ spicy food. I play chess and poker every now and then when I’m not spending time on new ventures, from startups to breweries.

Description

I’m a local beer enthusiast and home brewer who secretly works as a beer spy. I’ve been home brewing for over 3 years now, and have produced 200+ batches of beer. I’ve also tasted over 800 different beers from all around the world. For the past few years I’ve been hosting beer tastings for friends and friends of friends.

Join me for a fun and informative tasting session and get to know Estonian beer beyond the boring big-name brands. I’ll introduce you to a handpicked selection of light and dark beers from a range of Estonian craft breweries, and teach you about beer styles, beer history and beer culture.

Your private tasting takes place in a light-green and white two-story house just a 2-minute walk from Freedom Square. Come to the front door and ring the doorbell (name: Leola) or call me. I’m inside!

Within the house hides a big room with a huge oak beer table. The walls are decorated with coloured shields representing all Estonian fraternities and sororities.

Tastings can be held for groups of up to 30 people.

In the case of a same-day booking, please allow 2–3 hours of preparation time for your tasting. Thank you!

A fun friday night
The beer tasting with Martin was a really fun experience for the locals and our visitors from different countries, a real eye-opener for craft beers.
We really enjoyed the evening program and how it was set up. The interesting facts about different brewing styles and "Tujurikkuja" videos were a really good addition to just tasting the beers. And the variety of the beers, I am sure that everyone found their favourite, even the non-beer drinkers. And if not, Martin had a solution for them as well.
With all that energetic and positive vibe that Martin gave out, it was a really great night and a sure thing to recommend.
Impressive & funny guide an with amazing reportoar off tastefull beers
Great experience!
Nice beers, great host! I would recommend this to all beer lovers.
Overall Great Beer Experience!
This Tour is definitely something to do in Tallinn. Martin is a super cool guy, who really enjoys drinking a beer with "strangers". He knows what he's talking about and you'll learn something new about brewery and so on.
The chosen beers were all great and overall it was worth it. 10/10!
a very nice atmosphere, interesting details about beer brewing and most importantly good beer
Awesome Beers, Awesome Experience
The Estonian Craft Beer Tasting & History is definitely a must-do if you're in Tallin and if you love beers. You'll end up in an old Estonian fraternity house, sit at a long table and sip a lot of really good beers. The environment itself is not like that of a brewery, but it'll let you see an aspect of Estonian life that you would not get to know otherwise. The tour itself consists of you sitting, tasting and having a really good talk with Martin (the guy who hosts the tour). He has a good knowledge on beers and, whether you're a novice or an expert in the field, you may actually get to know something new. Overall, it was really a good experience and I would definitely do it again if I were to come back to Tallinn!
Martin 5 stars, Beer 5 stars, Location 4 stars, Atmosphere 5 stars, Value for money 5 stars!
This interesting journey to craft beers will take your taste buds on an adventure while you sit comfortably on your seat. Don't hesitate to tell what you taste - there is no wrong answers. Martin knows a great deal about craft beers, but don't worry, he's not a snob! In fact, he's probably one of the most relaxed hosts you will ever meet. Our group of three had a fun and tasty afternoon with Martin and Estonian craft beers. We warmly recommend this 5 star tasting experience.
I give this tour (and Martin) 5 stars, without question.
My sister and I did the Estonian craft beer tasting with Martin and absolutely loved it. We've done many beer tours but have never learned so much before. Martin covered ingredients, methods of brewing, history and different brewers, as well as history about Estonia and Tallinn in general. The beers were diverse and delicious, and Martin is incredibly knowledgeable and fascinating! He stayed extra time to ensure we covered all the beers and answered all our questions. It was a relaxed, informative, and fun activity. I highly recommend it, whether you're a craft beer enthusiast, a tourist looking to learn more, or just in the mood for a laugh!
Better than expected!
Me and my boyfriend loved the beer tasting! (I am a complete newbie but he knows quite a lot). Martin is a real enthusiast and it felt like he knew everything about beers. Despite my lack of knowledge I was able to understand 99% of the slideshow/ presentation. We got to taste 7 types of Estonian craft beer. Moreover Martin is very easy going and fun type, so the two hours were very pleasant. After the tasting he even recommended us places to visit (dining and drinking). I'd say money well spent.
Overall it was perfect, better than expected! Thanks, Martin!! :-)
Highly recommended!
Informative, interesting, delicious, friendly, great value for money are just some of the words that spring to mind. Martin is extremely knowledgeable about his subject but explains everything in a way that you can fully understand. You find out about the history of beer making, the various Types of beer being made today a loads of other interesting things. Best of all you get to taste some really good beer! Book this to increase your knowledge and understanding of the various different types of beers along with and tasting some really good beers! Martin not only knows his stuff but makes it very interesting and involves you fully. After tasting 7 or so beers you are ready for something to eat. Ask Martin to recommend the local burger joint. You won't be disappointed.
We really enjoyed the Estonian craft beer tasting. Martin had chosen an interesting selection of Estonian craft beers. Two hours went by quickly as we tasted the beers, listened to Martins presentation and discussed beers. The atmosphere was relaxed. Martin surely is an expert on beers and Estonian beers in particular! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in beer.
Martin knows about beer!
Me and my friends did a beer tasting with Martin when he used to run a small Malaysian wok place. He had a nice selection of local Estonian craft beer for us and he knows how to bring out their interesting sides and aftertastes. Always great to talk to him about the local beer scene!
