I love going to el Serrallo and walking along the edge of the port, admiring the boats. I'll often spot an old man with traditional clothing in his boat, coiling ropes or scrubbing the woodwork. The scenes sometimes look 100 years old. Now the port is known also for the strip of bars and restaurants which specialize in authentic local seafood.
The al fresco dining at the dozen or so restaurants is perfect for a long lunch. Food is of excellent quality and competition keeps the prices very reasonable. The "Bar Los Pescadores" (Fishermans Bar), one street back from the port is a very authentic venue for a quick drink, although the facilities are not of high standard.
After lunch, if you choose to walk north up the coast, you will arrive to the Platja de Miracle (Miracle Beach), seen from the Mediteranean Balcony.
