Whenever you are in need of fresh meat, fish, fruit or veggies, Tartu market is the place for you. Situated in the very heart of Tartu, this example of 1930s architecture is a landmark on its own. Although it may look cold and unwelcoming form the outside, it’s actually filled with lovely warm-hearted farmers selling their yummy homegrown goods.
Why you should visit it
The fun thing with markets is that you can have taste of whatever you are going to buy before making the purchase. Well, this can also lead to buying tons of things you didn’t know you wanted before or having a long philosophical conversation about growing carrots with the salesperson.
