Best place to live around Tbilisi with clean air and beautiful surroundings?

By To Traveller May 24, 2018

The air in Tbilisi has become very bad over the last few years unfortunately. I am therefore looking to live outside Tbilisi where the air is better. I realise that this means the way to the center of Tbilisi is longer, but I am more than happy to do this. Moreover, I am looking for a very nice surrounding and a very nice place. Money is not really a concern. What would be good places to look please?

The districts, which are on the outskirts of Tbilisi and are spared the huge amount of traffic that most of the city suffers from.
Bagebi, Tsavkisi Valley, Tskneti

Many thanks, Maria! Bagebi I have looked at during my last trip to Tbilisi and did not like it so much. I also looked at Krtsanisi, but the air there was still rather bad since it is close to Tbilisi and very low in elevation. So Tskneti and Tasvkisi could be interesting. Thank you! And will there be some luxurious flats there as well? Sort of where "rich" people would live. And what do you think about Mtskheta which is another area I was thinking about?
Tsavkisi Valley is a kind of closed residential (townhouse) area for upper class. Kiketi village (farther from the city on the same road) is also known to be a rather rich people's area.
About Mtskheta I'm not sure. I'm not an expert on air, but it seems to me less suitable, as it's located in a lowland, while others are on the hills and partly surrounded by forest.
But maybe I'm wrong.
Many thanks! It does not allow to search for these areas as they are not part of the search districts I can select, but I now found a way around this by just searching via their map feature. And this is the key site to look at? I.e. if I were Georgian and had a nice place to rent, I would put it on this website?

Many thanks! That is great! And how would I find something to rent there? I am asking because when I was last in Tbilisi I talked to several real estate agencies and they all only talked about Bagebi and Krtsanisi which I both visited and did not like.
There is a website called www.myhome.ge almost everyone sells and rents their house or apartments there. Just fill the form ( city, suburb, price approximately and click search ) you don't need to be registered or to pay something to check places on that website.

Thank you very much again for pointing me to these suburbs. That is very helpful indeed! The only problem I now came up with that, at least on www.myhome.ge, there are only very few places in these locations and if so they are only huge houses. Indeed very nice houses which is great, but sort of 200 m2 plus. I was more looking more for something like 75-125 m2 and ideally in the form of an apartment, not a house. So may I ask a question where I would found this? Thanks!
In that places people only build dacha style summer houses, not apartments. You will find apartemens only in
Tbilisi and other big cities .
Many thanks again! But then what should I do please? In Tbilisi itself I am scared about the air pollution which is why I came up with the idea of living outside. Now I of course know that different people have different views on the air pollution, but for me doing the utmost for my health is very important, so clean air is essential. So what would you recommend?
I live in very clean and peaceful place, but this website is very open and cant write my address. You can add me on fb and I will tell you few interesting suburbs.
