I'm a teacher in Abu Dhabi and would like to visit Tblisi on the weekend of the 1st of December. I love the markets and vintage little shops and restaurants in Tblisi. Where in Tblisi is the most central to stay? I'm not there for the nightlife

Hi, we would recommend you to consider the New Tiflis area (begginning of the David Agmashenebeli Ave. and the crossing streets). It's a really nice area close to the famous Dry Bridge flea market. Our favourite vintage style cafes are: Linville (on the Leselidze, or kote Abkhazi str.), Amo Rame (Ingorokva str.), Cafe Le Toit (very close to Linville, 5th floor). And also the restaurant Barbarestan which is pricey, but totally worth it. It's a place where they serve the food made according the XIX century cook book recepies.
Enjoy your trip to Tbilisi! <3

Hello Wayne,
if you want to explore Tbilisi on your own, I suggest to start with the old town, you would need about 2-4 hours for it.
Then go throught the sightseeing list of LikeALocal and take a cab to visit the sights, that looks interesting to you and are located outside of the old town.
As for the acitivities - it´s mainly museums, sulfur bathes, dance and music performances in restaurants and wine tastings or cooking workshops.
If you need a tailor-made itinerary, I can prepare one.

Enjoy your trip!

I am planning with my wife and 3.5 year old kid, will that be good option during this time (dec 1st week). Also wanted to know if we can enjoy the winter sports like snow boarding and skieing during this time or should postpone for some later dates? can anyone also share any local card rentals with drivers details would be helpful.
Hi Jagdiesh,

I can recommend you a good and reliable driver.
As for the ski season, there will be snow already, but the ski season itself starts after the first week of December.
Best,

Maria

Thank you Maria for the information and your quick reply. so we should plan in 3rd or last week of december right if interested in winter sports? but i believe there would more cold that time... so what do you think if Feb/March would be a good option for that for sking and winter sports?
Without guide you can only see old Tbilisi and bath districts . Many other routes that are used by tour guides are not on the itinerary as they are copyright. you can check Tbilisi Tourist Information Center and get some paper books there or google :)
