Agreed Anna free walking tour was one of the best I've been on and it covers all the major points. http://tbilisifreewalkingtour.com
I loved the botanical gardens here, really nice to walk beyond the waterfall and have a picnic by the natural spring.
Absolute must is using the sulphur baths, we booked a luxury room for 80lari one hour, included a warm pool, cold plunge pool and sauna, excellent, it think we used no5 the same one as the public baths (3lari for a public bath)
A good place to eat was in the old city area, called machakhela- 16 K. Marjanishvili, Tbilisi, Georgia

The main street Rustaveli has a lot of things: stores, restaurants, museums, interesting squares, parks, churches, etc. For a day trip out of Tbilisi (but not too far out) you might want to check out Mtshketa and the sites along the way (a very famous church on the mountain overlooking Mtshketa across the river. Then there is the "Old City" or Shardan area where there are lot of really interesting things to see from ancient baths, homes, churches, shops, restaurants, etc.
