Hi, Welcome to Georgia!
Driving in Kazbegi and Gudauri in the winter time needs some experience and skills of driving on the icy roads. I would advise renting the car with the local driver for your safety and well being!
Good luck!

Hallo
Yes, it’s safe, but now it isn’t good road from Tbilisi to Gudauri or Kazbegi, because it’s snow and frozen.. it will be good if you rent car with driver..
Have a nice days here..

Hello , renting a car and driving on your own its same expense as renting a driver/guide e.g to rent a car you need min 55$ plus petrol which might cost you 30$ min, so its better and more save being guided (also before going to kazbegi on the way is ananury monastery and gudauri balcony its good places to stop too

Hi, I will be happy to assist you. Could provide ride with safe car and driver, also accompany you as a local freelancer guide if you need s guide service as well. Let's see how the roads will be by that time. If very heavy snow it will not be possible to go to Kazbegi- roads will be closed. Otherwise it is ok to drive there. Please visit my FB page as well. I guarantee best service and price. Have a nice travel !

Hi NINO .. we are family of 4, planning to be in Georgia for 6 nights/7 days .. can you advise on which cities i can book the hotels so i can be able to visit the places around each city .. like 2 nights in Tbilisi + 2 in Gudauri + 2 in Borjomi .. what do you think?
Hello Ndreanna,

at the moment it's not advisable to drive on your own to Kazbegi because if blizzards and avalanches risk.
It's better to take an experienced driver with a well equipped car.

Best,

Maria
