Hello, I’m Maria, a private travel guide in Georgia. Tbilisi became my home 4 years ago and ever since then I’ve been exploring every corner of the country, taking the craziest routes and making unforgettable memories.

I became a guide not because I had to, but because I really wanted to share my passion for Georgia with visitors. It’s still my dream job! Travelling has taught me that we’re all different, and that’s why I create tailor-made tours for each of my guests.

I love showing visitors another side of Tbilisi, the one that you won’t find in the guidebooks. For example, I know the city’s socialist architecture well, from grand buildings and monuments to abandoned cable car stations, and am always finding beauty in decay.

I also love introducing people to the food scene beyond the fancy restaurants: typical diners where office workers eat, a small fast food spot that all local kids love, and an old restaurant that’s still popular today.

Description

See the Northern part of Armenia, a place where Soviet mining factories meet medieval monasteries, a place surrounded by rocky mountains, where time seems to stand still.

Our route leads through the historical Lori province, an important historical region for both – Georgia and Armenia. You will visit the two UNESCO protected monastery complexes of Sanahin and Haghpat, discover the origins of the bright blue color in ancient frescoes in Akhtala, see abandoned cable cars and typical Soviet industrial towns and enjoy a traditional Armenian meal in a cozy restaurant by a river.

More than I even dared to hope for !!!
A day trip to Armenie ? I was not sure - Georgie is such a great country and so much to discover and one day in Armenia what will I learn and see anyway ? .... How wrong was I and how happy am I that I booked this tour ! Together with my partner we did the tour with Maria and her too funny driver (she is the best driver of Georgie and don´t worry she is also a nurse ...) and we did not stop talking the whole day - so many stories, questions, discussions, ideas and especially the most beautiful legends she can tell you. Do not even think about it - just book the tour and you really get an idea of Armenie - see the most beautiful monasteries - get an idea of USSR footprint in the country and will meet so many great people. For sure you end the day with the biggest smile !
Great tour!
