Description

This tour takes you close to the border with Azerbaijan to see the remarkable David Gareja Cave Monastery. You’ll be blown away by the hundreds of cave structures that have been carved out of the mountainside. This Georgian Orthodox center was founded in the 6th century by one of the 13 Assyrian monks.

After Gareja Monastery we will visit the desert village of Udabno which is home to many ecomigrants. There you will take part in a cooking class to learn how to prepare food from the Svaneti region.
