Description
Tour to Gudauri starts at 09:00 am. We will meet at the lobby of your hotel or at any suitable place for you. Our first stop will be at a very popular place, which is known as the Jvari (Cross) Monastery. This Cathedral was built in the 6th century around a wooden cross, which had been standing there since the 4th century (Georgia became Orthodox in the 4th century). You will see an amazing panorama of the Mtskheta town and a confluence of 2 rivers: Mtkvari and Aragvi.
After Jvari we will drive further and our second stop will be nearby Jinvali lake. The color of water changes during the year: in summer it's azure and in winter it's dark blue. You will enjoy the view on the lake and the mountains. Our third stop is Ananuri Fortress. This fortress was built in the 17th century by local dukes.
Stop for a lunch.
After lunch, we will drive straight to Gudauri. Gudauri is one of the most popular ski resorts in Georgia. You can enjoy skiing, paragliding or riding snowmobiles in Gudauri. After visiting Gudauri we will return to Tbilisi.
The distance between Tbilisi and Gudauri is 120 km.
The elevation of ski resort is 2200 m.
Price for a lunch is about 10-15 dollars per person.
