We spent 4 days in a row with Beka (me and my girlfriend). He showed us around the most famous places in Georgia. All within a few hours by car from Tbilisi. Beka is a passionate guide, very devoted to his work. He is polite, funny and full of energy. In every place, he fed us with historical curiosities and led us to good restaurants. He made a lot of extra stops only because we ask him to do so. He was very curious about our life and we quickly got to like him. Travelling with him is pure pleasure. I don't know how he could stand such distances of driving day after day. But he did it for us. He always picked us up from the place where we stayed. At the end of our journey, he also offered to take us to the airport. We had a flight in the middle of the night so he saved us back then. He didn't even want payment for it. I recommend Beka to anyone who wants to travel in Georgia and experience something more native. I encourage you even to spend a few days in a row with Beka and discover as many fantastic places in a nice company as you can.

Description

We start as early as possible in the morning from your accommodation place.
We will visit:
• Borjomi - the picturesque resort town in southcentral Georgia located on the edge of the Borjom-Kharagauli National Park. The town is famous for its mineral water, which is number one export of Georgia. Borjomi is also home to the most extensive ecologically themed amusement park in the Caucasus.
• Rabati - City was established in the 9th century. From the 13th to the end of 14th centuries it was the capital city of south Georgian Kingdom.
• Khertvisi fortress - The fortress was first built in the 2nd century BC. The church was built in 985, and the present walls were built in 1354. As the legend says, Khertvisi was destroyed by Alexander the Great.
• Vardzia - Cave monastery site. The main period of construction was the second half of the twelfth century. The caves stretch along the cliff for some five hundred meters and in up to nineteen tiers. The site was largely abandoned after the Ottoman takeover in the sixteenth century. Now part of a state heritage reserve, the extended area of Vardzia-Khertvisi has been submitted for future inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
