What about the security situation in Israel at the moment in general and escpecially in cities like Jerusalem and Tel Aviv? I mean a couple of weeks ago I heard from an attack in Jerusalem by a lorry driver and last year there were an attack in Tel Aviv. Are there places I should leave or which i shouldn´t visit there? What about such holy places like the sea Genezareth or the wall in Jerusalem or the Jordan river? Would you recommend to visit?

Hi Bob, the question is hard to answer. I feel very safe in Tel Aviv. Regarding Jerusalem, statistically there had been more terror acts. The Arab driver who drove in attention to kill, targeted soldiers. Nazareth and the Galileo lake should be OK and so is the Dead Sea. Jerusalem is a very important city to visit, so you can take your chances and may be not spend there too many days but visit only the most important cites. But as you know, in the world today, you can never know.. but overall, I think we are safe hear. If you come and want more help or even before you come, I will be happy to help. Hi,
In two words - don't worry.
In 3 words - Berlin, Nice, Paris (and you may add some more)
The security situation in Israel is much better than in many other countries. If you visit the popular touristic places, like TLV, Jerusalem, Eilat, Galilee and many more - don't worry. Thousands of people visit these places everyday. But of course, the minimal chance of a security event is always there, like everywhere (have we mentioned Berlin or Nice?)
If you want to visit places in under Palestinian control, like Bethlehem, it's a little more complicated. I don't know how is it for tourists (I guess there are guided tours that are secure), but myself, as an Israeli, I wouldn't gi there alone.
But as for TLV, Jerusalem, the wailing wall and the rest of the country - don't worry. Chances to be hurt in a road accident in anywhere in the world are much higher.
See you around here....

and in the last year there have been quite a few ISIS attacks in Germany, France, Belgium, the US...

T.A. is great. this entire week there were in average 18 degrees, the beach is beautiful, we have museums, parks, excellent restaurants and a well-known clubs scene.

T.A is 45 min. only from Jerusalem, Caesaria, and 2 hours from the sea of gallillee and 1.5 hours from the Dead Sea.

I would definitely come! :-)

I don't think that Tel Aviv is less safe than any other Europian capital these days.
However, I believe that you can come without any worries!
I work in the center of Tel Aviv, most of my social life is here and I fell safe and secure.
Welcome to our small, crazy and amazing country :-)

The crime rate in Israel is lower than most developed countries and the danger from terrorist attack I believe no more than any where in Europe or the United States. I would recommend not visiting the West Bank (or Judea and Samaria as the right wing call it) . The streets of Tel Aviv are safer than most cities and Jerusalem no more than any.. Unlike abroad where the terrorist seem to target tourist areas here it is not so. It truly is not something you need to worry about here any more than anywhere else. I am an American(and Israeli) who has lived here for 50 years.

Hello Bob - the short answer is that the security situation in the country is no different from any other developed country. Indeed, if you check reliable sources (for example, the US Dept. of State) you will see that the crime rate for Israel is generally the same as any other Western country. Security-related problems of a political nature are also presently low. From a routine perspective, tourists enjoy a calm and good experience here in the country.
The long answer is that once every five-ten years, the political situation (the Israel-Arab conflict) flares up. When this happens, no one can predict what will be the outcome.

Hi
I live in Tel Aviv with my family, I love this city, it's quite and you don't feel these attacks. Unfortunately terror is worldwide these days but you don't feel it here when you travel around.
Enjoy

At the moment, I must recommend you to avoid Israel altogether.

We have a bunch of raving psychotic ultra-nationalistic maniacs for a "government" and only yesterday, our "minister of... ""defense""" has openly expressed his overwhelming desire for a total warfare in the area, all the while our... """prime-minister""" is under an escalating criminal investigation, and would, probably, lit a major fire in the area (either in Gaza, or Syria, or - heck, probably both at once; most likely along with Lebanon, too), in order to divert the ignorant masses' attention from his increasingly revolting, shocking acts of unbelievable corruption.

So, best thing you can do, is to stay as far away from this region (including turkey and Egypt) as you possibly can. Some very hard atrocities are at foot. But, even if you find you absolutely HAVE to visit this hellish area, AVOID JERUSALEM AT ALL COSTS.
