A fantastic attraction in spring, summer and autumn, Roses park is one of the reasons for which Timisoara is also known as the City of Flowers (it has lots to do with parks like this) Designed for the Universal Exposition of 1891, the park sits on the bank of the river Bega and is offers a variety of roses, pergolas and nice benches to sit on

Why you should visit it

Although it was dug up and used by cavalry in World War I, it was reopened in 1934 as the biggest rosarium in Eastern Europe. It now is a favourite past time for locals as well as the host of numerous festivals like the Festival of Hearts, Street Food festival.

Special tip

In august it also hosts the outdoor Opera and Operetta festival, a great musical event you should join if in the area!
