It depends on what he might like. There
are so many attractions here in Tokyo. e.g. Akihabara is like sanctuary for anime fan. Shibuya and Harajuku are popular for young people. You had better tell us what he likes.

He's interested in the oddities of Anime and Gundam stuff. Their excitement about the trip is based on that stuff alone!~
So You must go to gundam base in Odaiba.

Most anime fan stay Akihabara. whole town is animation there. Have you booked hotel?
Also there is Bandai Gundam museum in Tochigi prefecture, takes about 1 hour half by train from Tokyo.

Hi, I would recommend if you have time to go to Kamakura for a day trip or even spend one night there. They have beach houses built along the beach and each one serves different food and plays different music. You can also rent tubes, umbrellas, and do some water sports like riding on a banana boat or jet ski.
Really fun way to spend a day!
A bit crowded on the weekends, but still fun. The main beach Yuigahama is more crowded, and nearby Zaimokuza Beach is more relaxed.
Also while in Kamakura you should definitely see the Big Buddha in Hase!
Have an amazing trip!

I have no doubt it is a tourist trap and looks like something that would be better suited to a place where drugs are legal, but it seems to be on their list. Unfortunately neither of the boys have gotten around to getting their driver's liscences, and with the younger turning 18 only on that day, couldn't get one prior anyway. They have Tuktuks but it's not close to the same.
Hi Jason,
If your son has interest in Gundam, why not taking him to Diversity in Odaiba where the real size of Gundam stands still ?
Many events and attributions are held until September 1st. according to the website below.
