Art-Deco Building &
Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum (東京都庭園美術館)1
Why locals love it
Former residence of Prince Asaka. Though located in a city center, it's quite tranquil and the best for relaxing. It used to be the residence of Prince Asaka and buildings are beautiful. Easily accessible from JR Meguro Sta. and Tokyo Metro’s Shirokanedai Sta.
Why you should visit it
You can feel how the prince family lived and the influence of French architecture in 1930s. Great architects and artists of that day from France and Japan, such as Henri Rapin, René Lalique and Yōkichi Gondō contributed to designing the buildings.
There is also a small but nice cafe "Cafe du Palais".
