Kemi's Workers' Museum

Why locals love it

The Kemi Workers' Museum was opened to the public in 1983. The museum houses two residential buildings built by Ab Kemi Oy, which were the last to be completed in Marttala's working-class residential area in 1929. The Workers' Museum presents a 1910s sawmill's apartment, 1930s factory worker’s apartment and a late 1930s skilled worker’s apartment

Why you should visit it

The Finnish Hairdresser Museum was opened to the public in 1989. The Museum's collections are located on the upper floor of the second building of the Workers' Museum. In the museum's exhibition, you can get a glimpse into the secrets of the profession from the 1900s to the 1960s, as well as to the former way of life.
