Before enjoy the sake brewery you will enjoy a diverse taste of the distillery district chalked full of interesting facts about the area’s history, architecture, and how the area became what it is today. We’ll meet at a central location and get the low-down on the Distillery’s past as Canada’s largest whiskey producer, it’s decline during prohibition, and it’s eventual conversion into an entertainment district.
We will visit a wonderful local bakery for tarts, pastries, or pies. One of Toronto’s best chocolate makers is also on the tour where you will get to try one of their renowned drinking chocolates in flavors like praline, mayan, or traditional. Our final stop with edibles with be Toronto’s first and only sake brewery.
Your guide not only will provide your tour of the distillery and sweet shops but also The Ontario Spring Water Sake Company, locally known as Izumi. You will learn how sake is made from start to finish and taste four different types of sake all made right here in the distillery. Often the brewers are present and making sake. You will be able to see them up close, doing whatever tasks need to done for the day.
