Why you should visit it
In addition to a diverse exhibition program, the museum offers plenty of side programs as well as a beautiful setting for togetherness and enjoyment. The museum’s national romantic Granite Castle is one of the city’s most prominent landmarks and also an attraction in itself.
The building was designed by Professor Gustaf Nyström and when completed in 1904 was the second building in Finland to be designed as an art museum.
