3000 years old Royal Mound

Kung Björns hög

Why locals love it

A very popular spot for excursions! It is a Bronze Age burial mound for one or two very wealthy persons including one woman. No other Scandinavian Bronze Age burial site contains as many gold findings. According to legend King Björn was buried in it, but it wasn't since he lived there at least 1500 years after the mound was constructed.

Why you should visit it

Climb the mound, take in the view of the beautiful Hågadalen and ponder the work it took to build it to serve as a burial site for the wealthy. Later it was used for human sacrifice. Have a picnic on the mound, get acquainted with the grazing sheep and stroll through the valley Hågadalen or the forest Nåsten.
