I've been living in the bohemian capital Tartu for some while now. It’s no wonder, I truly adore the come-as-you-are feeling and the hakuna matata vibe of this romantic student town. Spending my time studying physiotherapy, playing volleyball, organizing film festivals, spontaneously hitchhiking to Poland and taking part in random art projects, I somehow always manage to find time for a drink or two. Being the master of procrastination and all, I am sure that my carefree “LOL, I have no idea what I’m doing” attitude will take me far.
Occupation: half-time hippie/full-time physical therapist
My passions are:
In my city I have great tips for:
Bars & nightlife
Art & architecture
Cafés & coffee shops
I love my city because: This town is full of hope, of blooming youth, of great ideas. Time here seems to flow in its own pace, much like the river Emajõgi. You are let to be who you are and become who you desire. No wonder most people spend the best days of their lives here. All in all Tartu is rather rustic and angular, much like myself.
My idea of a great trip is: I consider myself the proud co-founder of handbag-travelling. This alternative to backpacking simply means that you can only bring whatever fits in your purse. So the ideal trip for me would be grabbing my bag and hitting the highway. No further plans, reservations or time limits. Just a bit of money and complete freedom.
I have travelled to: So far I’ve been to Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, England and Scotland. I’m more than eager to continue this list.
