I'm Merylin, and I'm passionate about art, illustration, and film making as I have studied all three! I know where great coffee is, the best cinemas, hidden art galleries, interesting museums, vegetarian restaurants, organic shops, juice & smoothie bars and open air markets are all hiding about Lisbon as they're part of my daily routine and life in experiencing living la vida Lisboeta.

In my city I have great tips for:

  • Shops & markets
  • Hidden gems
  • Culture hubs
  • Art & architecture
  • Parks & nature
  • Cafés & coffee shops
  • Budget eats

I have travelled to: Belgium, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, United States, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, UK, St. Kitts & Cayman Islands

My idea of a great trip is: A trip that includes lots of local art and crafts, gallery hunting and museum going. Cycling and book hunting with tasting local and healthy food in between.

I love my city because: It's a lively and fun place where people are true to themselves. There is never a dull moment in the city if you have the energy to navigate all it has to offer. It's culture extends to it's love of music and rich history of Fado, seaside cuisine, and the never ending year long queue of cinema festivals. Things here are rich in artistry while capturing a contemporary feel for the market. Secondhand books can be found everywhere, vegetarian food and organic options are abundant, and hand made soaps, clothes and jewelry fill the tiny boutiques around the city.
